A double coil spring engaging the bracket maintains the proper contact between the shoe and the conductor bar.

Collectors of the sliding shoe type have a large contact area and are fully shrouded in the bakelite housing. This method of collection, the same as used in high speed railway electrification, assures polishedmore conductors and collectors at all times and there by reduces arcing. less
