In order to provide against end thrust when using Monotractors on electrified No. D-401 track, it is necessary that track be rigidly braced at the curve and switch connections. This can be done by the use of a short Girder Rail section at the approaches to and in the Reinforced Curves shown on this page.

These curves are build up similar to Girder Rail with heavy steel web plates welded between the twin section of No. D-401 track. Short sections of heavy angle are welded to the top of the web at all support points.

With this rigid arrangement Monotractors are protected against excessive way when operating around curves and through switches.
